June 2021 Virtual Chapter Meeting

Business Acumen

This session has three key take-a-ways. First, Dr. Burchill will describe a leadership development program that is voluntary and based on self-directed learning. Second, participants attending will explore examples of how leaders in various settings have measured their soft skill growth, such as: overcoming the fear of failure, developing stronger relationships, understanding my triggers. Third, attendees will learn skills that PM experts can implement in facilitating group coaching and group reflection. More specifically, participants will learn group coaching skills to enhance the group’s active listening and ability to ask open-ended questions. Active listening and open-ended questions are the gateway to understanding your stakeholders’ needs and visions – cornerstones in any project management.
