This session introduces you to a way of thinking about Negotiation and Conflict Resolution that will give you renewed confidence. Conflict resolution professionals work in a range of fields, including business, law, education, healthcare, and government. They act as arbitrators, mediators, facilitators, ombudsmen, and counselors. They must understand the root causes and dynamics of conflict and how to resolve disputes through reasoned negotiation. This session helps project professional develop practical models for negotiating and resolving disputes among parties with differing objectives and desires.
MAIN PRESENTER: Dr. Michael P. Durbin, PhD, PMP, PMI-PBA, CSM, ICP
Dr. Michael Durbin is a senior consultant at Daugherty Business Systems with over 25 years of experience in a wide range of industries, including information technology, education, insurance, manufacturing, communications, consumer products, electrical engineering and health care. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Business Analyst (PMI-PBA), and ScrumMaster(CSM & SASM). Michael holds a Ph.D. from St. Louis University, where he explored management innovations in higher education, including the perceived use and value of project management in institutions of higher education. He currently teaches project management and business analysis classes at Saint Louis University and is an active volunteer with the St. Louis PMI Chapter.
