March 2022 Chapter Meeting: Leading without any Formal Power

Power Skills

And who is Ramzi Marjaba? And why should you listen to him? First off, let me say that it was awkward writing about myself in the third person. Now that it is off my chest, you shouldn’t listen to me. I have my expertise, ideas and skill that I’m happy to share, but I’m bringing in SE’s from all over so we can learn from them. I believe we can learn from anyone. It could be someone with 20 years experience, or someone with 1 year. Everyone has their expertise. That being said, here’s some info about me. First and foremost, I’m a father of 2 and a husband of 1. Hopefully my wife does not see this, or she might make me change it :) . I have been a in the telecommunication industry since 2007. I’ve worked as a support engineer and network design engineer at Nokia (formerly Alcatel-Lucent). In 2014, I transitioned to the Sale Engineering role, still within networking and communication. I’ve really enjoyed and am still enjoying being an SE, but I find there aren’t many resources for us. There’s a bunch for sales people, and a bunch for technical people. So I’m starting this for the technical people who enjoy sales.

Take-a-ways include: Understanding that everyone has some leadership power, It's important to learn about sales & Leading is our duty, especially when we're the experts.
